Our team of specialist orthodontists have decades of industry experience working and are passionate about creating healthy, beautiful smiles.
Dr Charlotte Boardman
Lead Orthodontist
Dr Charlotte Boardman joined the team at Coastal Orthodontics in 2013 as an associate orthodontist before taking over as lead orthodontist in 2019. Charlotte has almost 20 years of experience in the dental industry practicing in the UK and Australia. She is a passionate orthodontist that loves seeing her patients’ smile and self-esteem transform thanks to orthodontic treatment. Dr Boardman grew up in the small seaside town of Lytham St Annes in North West England. After practicing as a specialist orthodontist in the UK, Dr Boardman made the move to Australia to start a new chapter in her career. Dr Boardman goes above and beyond for her patients and still gets excited about every day, every patient and every smile she can help at Coastal Orthodontics. Away from the practice Charlotte is very family orientated. She is a mother to two young girls and loves spending time with them in the beautiful local area.
Kelly Tandler
Hygienist
Kelly joined the Coastal Orthodontic team in 2008 as part of our hygiene team. Kelly has almost 30 years experience as a hygienist with 18 years in specialist practices. She loves helping patients achieve a long-lasting smile with long term retention techniques. Kelly is passionate about all things dentistry and is always looking for opportunities to learn new techniques to provide better outcomes for her patients. When she is not taxiing her 15 year old around the coast Kelly can be found at the beach. She also loves travelling in her campervan.
Dr Marina Moor
Orthodontist
Dr. Marina Moor is passionate about creating beautiful smiles and providing exceptional, personalized orthodontic care to her patients. For her, orthodontics is more than just about perfecting a smile – it’s about building confidence and making a lasting impact on her patients' lives.
Dr. Moor earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Alberta, graduating with numerous clinical and academic awards. She then spent several years practicing as a general dentist in both Canada and Australia before pursuing her true passion in orthodontics. This led her to return to the University of Alberta, where she completed a Specialty Program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics, earning a Master of Science in Orthodontics with honours.
Outside of her professional life, Dr. Moor enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and engaging in outdoor activities. She is looking forward to exploring the beautiful landscapes of the Northern Rivers region and is thrilled to make Tweed Heads her new home.

Rose McLaughlin
Oral Health Therapist
Rose McLaughlin is your Oral Health Therapist at Coastal Orthodontics, holding a Bachelor of Oral Health from CQUniversity Rockhampton, which she completed in 2017. Rose began her career as a Dental Assistant in 2013 and has extensive experience in central Queensland before relocating to Burleigh in 2021.

Rose is passionate about orthodontics and prefers its fast-paced environment over general dentistry. She finds great satisfaction in seeing patients through their orthodontic journeys and witnessing their dreams come true.

Outside of work, Rose enjoys working on her tan at the beach, cooking with her husband Steve, and indulging in food and drink. She loves to travel and is the proud owner of a cat named Migaloo. Her spirit animal is a raccoon, and her star sign is Cancer.
Jayde Brown
Practice Manager
Before becoming one of our practice managers Jayde was a patient at Coastal Orthodontics as a teenager. Jayde joined the team in 2007 prior to finishing school. She loves meeting new people and watching patients' smile transformations boost their confidence. She also loves spending time with her husband and three children at the beach.
Amy Armstrong
Practice Coordinator
Amy Armstrong has been a vital part of the Coastal Orthodontics team for over 12 years, holding a Certificate IV in Dental Assisting. As Practice Coordinator, she ensures the clinic operates smoothly and loves seeing patients' smile transformations.

Amy enjoys spending time with her work family and values the positive environment at Coastal Orthodontics. Outside of work, she is a devoted wife and mother of two, enjoys taking family walks with their Labrador, Chloe, and catching up with friends. Working alongside her sister Jayde, Amy's dedication to family and her role at the clinic shines through in everything she does.
Tian
Dental Assistant
Tian is a qualified dental nurse with a National Diploma in Dental Nursing. She began her career in 2021 at an NHS practice, before transitioning to a private practice in 2023 to expand her knowledge and gain further experience in the field.

Having moved to Australia in September, Tian is embracing the local lifestyle, enjoying beach days, adventures with her partner, and spending time with her beloved animals. Her clinical interests are focused on cosmetic dentistry, where she finds great joy in witnessing the transformative results and the happiness it brings to patients.
Kylie Speers
Treatment Coordinator/ Dental Assistant
Kylie is a bubbly Californian that loves to bake! Before joining Coastal Ortho she worked as a hygiene assistant in San Clemente where she loved comforting patients and making sure they got the care they needed! In her free time Kylie is usually praying for rain so she can snuggle up on the lounge and watch movies all day.
Hannah Brown
Treatment Coordinator/ Dental Assistant
Hannah, our skilled Dental Assistant, brings expertise and passion to Coastal Orthodontics. Alongside her NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing, she brings years of experience from the UK. Hannah enjoys helping people achieve beautiful smiles and finds joy in transformative smile moments. Outside work, she embraces adventure, from diving to exploring, and seeks adrenaline-fueled fun. Hannah's vibrant spirit shines through her active lifestyle and cherished moments with friends.
Charli Singleton
Dental Assistant
Charli is the friendly new dental assistant at Coastal Orthodontics. Charli has completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting at Kingscliff Tafe and has spent time working alongside a general dentist before joining our team. She loves getting to know each of her patients! Outside of the practice Charli loves hanging out with friends and family and taking her pup 'Ziggy' to the beach.
Laura Eggen
Receptionist
Laura joins the team at Coastal Orthodontics with loads of experience in the dental industry both in Australia and in her home country of Canada. She loves seeing the smile transformations and the joy they bring to patients. Laura has called Australia home for 7 years and moved to the Gold Coast from Sydney in 2018. She loves soaking in the sun at the beach with her dog Molly, going on weekend road trips and keeping centred by doing Yoga!
Mia Singleton
Receptionist
Mia completed a Cert III in Business Administration, Medical in 2021 before becoming Head Receptionist at Ascending Psychology. As our receptionist, she is passionate about creating relationships with patients, making them feel comfortable, and ensuring each visit is an enjoyable one. She loves going out for meals with family and friends, travelling, and camping with her partner.

Cassidy McKenzie
Dental Assistant
Cassidy is an enthusiastic Dental Assistant at Coastal Orthodontics. Before transitioning to the dental field, Cassidy spent three years as a home loan manager and holds a Certificate III in Business and a Certificate IV in Finance & Mortgage Broking.

An avid reader and aspiring author of fantasy novels, Cassidy also enjoys watching anime, weightlifting, and spending time with her cat, Krum. In her downtime, you can often find her immersed in a book or working on her own novel.

Cassidy is passionate about dentistry and is interested in expanding her knowledge within the field. She finds great joy in seeing the progress patients make and witnessing their increased confidence and happiness.

Outside of work, Cassidy loves going to the gym with her fiancé, hanging out with friends, and working on her writing projects.
Jackie McKenzie
Dental Assistant
Jackie, currently pursuing a Cert III in Dental Assisting, brings a dynamic approach to Coastal Orthodontics. In the clinic, Jackie is particularly intrigued by extractions and surgeries and is keen on learning all aspects of dental care. What Jackie enjoys most about her work is witnessing the transformation of patients' smiles and the multifaceted nature of dental care. In her personal life, Jackie treasures quality time with her wife, teenage son, and two beloved cats. Her interests are wide-ranging, from gaming on her PS5 to enjoying tranquil rainforest walks. An avid lover of music and movies, Jackie also enjoys binging TV shows, delving into new culinary experiences, and savouring coffee.
Kumi
Dental Assistant
Kumi grew up in Byron Bay and has spent most of her life in the local community. She holds a Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management from Southern Cross University and brings over 10 years of experience in the hospitality industry, including her previous role as Front Office Duty Manager at Elements of Byron Resort.
After recently returning from a six-month trip abroad, Kumi has embraced a new career path in dentistry. She is excited to be learning a new profession and is passionate about supporting both patients and the clinical team to create a positive experience for everyone. She also enjoys being part of the amazing support network of hardworking and welcoming women at the practice.
Outside of work, Kumi loves walks in the sun, snorkelling, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Kyah
Dental Assistant
Kyah joins our team bringing 7 years experience working in general dental practice.
Born on the Gold Coast, Kyah grew up with three brothers.
Kyah enjoys the constant evolution of dentistry and opportunity to continue to learn. Working with patients to enhance function and improve self-esteem brings Kyah joy in her role as a dental assistant.
Outside of work, Kyah enjoys walks on the beach, catching up on true crime documentaries and travelling.
Liana
Dental Assistant & Receptionist
Liana is both a Dental Assistant and Receptionist, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Education (P–12). She began her career as an orthodontic assistant straight out of high school and has loved being part of the patient journey ever since, in particular sharing in the excitement when braces come off.
She enjoys the energy of working with her team and supporting patients through their treatment with care and encouragement. Liana recently moved from Melbourne to Burleigh and is enjoying the change of lifestyle, including the beaches and sunshine.
Outside of work, Liana loves going to the beach, sunbaking, travelling, and attending festivals. She also enjoys wine with friends, listening to P!nk and podcasts, going to the gym, and relaxing with a good Jim Carrey movie. One of her favourite daily rituals is calling her grandad to share any minor updates on her life.
Eshaka
Dental Assistant
Born and raised in Melbourne, Eshaka brings to our team the experience of working in both general dental practice, and alongside a Periodontist and Maxillofacial specialist. Holding a Certificate 3 in Dental Assisting and First Aid & CPR Certifications, her journey in dentistry started in in 2021. Eshaka enjoys working with the team at Coastal Orthodontics where she says everyday is different but the team and patients are always happy. Outside of work you will find Eshaka baking, reading and spending time with her dogs when she can.
