Our team of specialist orthodontists have decades of industry experience working and are passionate about creating healthy, beautiful smiles.
Dr Charlotte Boardman
Lead Orthodontist
Dr Charlotte Boardman joined the team at Coastal Orthodontics in 2013 as an associate orthodontist before taking over as lead orthodontist in 2019. Charlotte has almost 20 years of experience in the dental industry practicing in the UK and Australia. She is a passionate orthodontist that loves seeing her patients’ smile and self-esteem transform thanks to orthodontic treatment. Dr Boardman grew up in the small seaside town of Lytham St Annes in North West England. After practicing as a specialist orthodontist in the UK, Dr Boardman made the move to Australia to start a new chapter in her career. Dr Boardman goes above and beyond for her patients and still gets excited about every day, every patient and every smile she can help at Coastal Orthodontics. Away from the practice Charlotte is very family orientated. She is a mother to two young girls and loves spending time with them in the beautiful local area.
Kylie Speers
Treatment Coordinator/ Dental Assistant
Kylie is a bubbly Californian that loves to bake! Before joining Coastal Ortho she worked as a hygiene assistant in San Clemente where she loved comforting patients and making sure they got the care they needed! In her free time Kylie is usually praying for rain so she can snuggle up on the lounge and watch movies all day.
Serena Klatt
Dental Assistant / Receptionist
Serena is one of our superstar Dental Assistant's at Coastal Orthodontics. Serena has a Cert ||| in Dental Assisting and loves being apart of her patients orthodontic journey. Outside of work Serena enjoys spending time with family and friends and going to the beach.
Lucy Tandler
Dental Assistant
Lucy is a dedicated Dental Assistant at Coastal Orthodontics. With a diverse background in hospitality and disability support care, she excels in providing exceptional service. Lucy is passionate about expanding her knowledge and skills in healthcare, currently studying Nursing at university. She finds fulfilment in witnessing patients' personal growth and smile transformations. Outside of work, Lucy enjoys the stunning beaches, invigorating surf sessions, and cherished moments with friends. She embraces her adventurous spirit through travel, gym sessions, and surfing.
Alex Hogg
Receptionist
Alex is a friendly and experienced Receptionist at Coastal Orthodontics, with a background of 5 years in hospitality. Having moved from Melbourne in 2022, Alex quickly became an integral part of the team. She takes pleasure in building relationships with patients and witnessing their confidence soar through smile transformations. Outside of work, Alex enjoys the pleasures of reading, running, cooking (with a special love for sweets), and engaging in trivia activities to keep the mind sharp and entertained.
Jackie McKenzie
Dental Assistant
Jackie McKenzie, currently pursuing a Cert III in Dental Assisting, brings a dynamic approach to Coastal Orthodontics. In the clinic, Jackie is particularly intrigued by extractions and surgeries and is keen on learning all aspects of dental care. What Jackie enjoys most about her work is witnessing the transformation of patients' smiles and the multifaceted nature of dental care. In her personal life, Jackie treasures quality time with her wife, teenage son, and two beloved cats. Her interests are wide-ranging, from gaming on her PS5 to enjoying tranquil rainforest walks. An avid lover of music and movies, Jackie also enjoys binging TV shows, delving into new culinary experiences, and savouring coffee.
Dr Seema Manek
Specialist Orthodontist
Originally from the UK, Dr Seema Manek joined the Coastal Orthodontics family in 2012 just after moving to Australia. Dr Manek is a passionate orthodontist that loves making beautiful smiles for her patients. Her relaxed personality is welcomed by her patients and helps her create a comfortable environment in the practice. Dr Manek has in depth knowledge in all aspects of dentistry with previous experience working in general dentistry, oral surgery, paediatric dentistry, special care dentistry, and orthodontics. When she is not at Coastal Orthodontics Dr Manek is a professional snack holder, story teller and chauffer to three energetic sons.
Jayde Brown
Practice Manager
Before becoming one of our practice managers Jayde was a patient at Coastal Orthodontics as a teenager. Jayde joined the team in 2007 prior to finishing school. She loves meeting new people and watching patients' smile transformations boost their confidence. She also loves spending time with her husband and two children at the beach.
Laura Eggen
Receptionist
Laura joins the team at Coastal Orthodontics with loads of experience in the dental industry both in Australia and in her home country of Canada. She loves seeing the smile transformations and the joy they bring to patients. Laura has called Australia home for 7 years and moved to the Gold Coast from Sydney in 2018. She loves soaking in the sun at the beach with her dog Molly, going on weekend road trips and keeping centred by doing Yoga!
Charli Singleton
Dental Assistant
Charli is the friendly new dental assistant at Coastal Orthodontics. Charli has completed her Certificate III in Dental Assisting at Kingscliff Tafe and has spent time working alongside a general dentist before joining our team. She loves getting to know each of her patients! Outside of the practice Charli loves hanging out with friends and family and taking her pup 'Ziggy' to the beach.
Andi Gull
Dental Assistant
Andi is a dedicated Dental Assistant at Coastal Orthodontics. With experience in both general dentistry and orthodontics, Andi has a deep understanding of patient care. She finds joy in witnessing the smile transformations that occur during orthodontic treatments and values the relationships she builds with patients. Outside of work, Andi enjoys watching movies with her pets, going to the beach with loved ones, and staying active through activities like running and going to the gym.
Koa O'Loughlin
Dental Assistant
New to the dental world, Koa has joined the team at Coastal Orthodontics as a Dental Assistant. Koa brings a special enthusiasm to our team, driven by her passion for helping people and creating a comfortable environment for all patients. She is fascinated by the dynamic nature of the dental field, where each day brings new learning opportunities and experiences. Beyond the clinic doors, Koa loves travelling with her boyfriend and their two dogs, Oats and Brownie. Her culinary skills are another highlight of her personality, as she finds joy in cooking up delicious dishes in her spare time.
Kelly Tandler
Hygienist
Kelly joined the Coastal Orthodontic team in 2008 as part of our hygiene team. Kelly has almost 30 years experience as a hygienist with 18 years in specialist practices. She loves helping patients achieve a long-lasting smile with long term retention techniques. Kelly is passionate about all things dentistry and is always looking for opportunities to learn new techniques to provide better outcomes for her patients. When she is not taxiing her 15 year old around the coast Kelly can be found at the beach. She also loves travelling in her campervan.
Amy Armstrong
Assistant Practice Manager
Amy has been part of the Coastal Orthodontics family for over 10 years. The best part of her job is getting to see the look on a patient's face when they see their new and improved smile for the first time! Away from Coastal Ortho Amy enjoys baking, going for walks and spending time with family and friends.
Tayla Kenny
Dental Assistant
We are so excited to have Tayla join our team at Coastal Ortho as an enthusiastic junior dental assistant! Tayla is currently studying a Bachelor of Nursing at Southern Cross University. She is a sterilization pro, loves learning new things and will always lend a helping hand. Outside of the practice Tayla enjoys taking her dog ‘Chewy’ for walks on the beach and hanging out with friends and family.
Mia Singleton
Receptionist
Mia completed a Cert III in Business Administration, Medical in 2021 before becoming Head Receptionist at Ascending Psychology. As our receptionist, she is passionate about creating relationships with patients, making them feel comfortable, and ensuring each visit is an enjoyable one. She loves going out for meals with family and friends, travelling, and camping with her partner.

Hannah Brown
Treatment Coordinator/ Dental Assistant
Hannah, our skilled Dental Assistant, brings expertise and passion to Coastal Orthodontics. Alongside her NEBDN Diploma in Dental Nursing, she brings years of experience from the UK. Hannah enjoys helping people achieve beautiful smiles and finds joy in transformative smile moments. Outside work, she embraces adventure, from diving to exploring, and seeks adrenaline-fueled fun. Hannah's vibrant spirit shines through her active lifestyle and cherished moments with friends.
Phoebe Kane
Dental Assistant
Phoebe is a self-described ‘surfer girl’ living in Tweed Heads. Born with a cleft lip and a palate, she’s had plenty of dental work over her life and is eager to give back to the oral health of patients at Coastal Orthodontics.
Before starting Dental Assisting, Phoebe worked in retail, hospitality, content creation, surf instructing, and surf competition judging. She now enjoys working with a beautiful team of kind and supportive women with whom she can learn something new every day, all while helping patients achieve smiles they are proud of.
For Phoebe, starting a new braces journey with a patient is the first step closer to a new smile and something she finds particularly rewarding. Conversely, removing braces allows her to see the finished result after a long period of work. “It’s always nice to get a beautiful smile, and have another happy patient,” she says.
Outside the clinic, Phoebe loves to travel, surf, hit the gym, go to festivals, and spend time with friends and family.
